HELLO
WORLD

Last night, I had the privilege of being part of the beautiful benefit auction called “Art with Impact”, in support of @savethechildren_de.

I’m so grateful I could be there, especially as i played as a surprise alongside @roman_borisov_piano, the iconic theme by John Williams of Schindler’s List. A truly moving moment.
I also got to share the evening with @simondepury, the renowned auctioneer and art expert, who was a key part of making this night so inspiring, fun and unforgettable.

Art has super powers: it connects us across all boundaries and continents, just like I feel every time I perform. For 28 years, I’ve been an ambassador for Save the Children, and since 1998, I’ve been performing benefit concerts to support their life-changing work. Just like yesterday, this is more than a performance, it’s a call to action.

Save the Children has been at this for over 100 years, and just in the last year alone, they helped millions of children. Every fifth child today is affected by war, displacement, or hunger. Please, support this incredible cause with a donation. Every single contribution makes a difference.
Together we can make the world a better place. Thank you!🙏

The silent auction ends May 3rd

I’m truly delighted to return to the concert stage this May and to share music with you again across Europe.

A particularly special moment will be on May 16 at the @barbicancentre in London, together with @maximilianhornung and @lauma_skride. The evening will feature the European and UK premiere of “Likoo”, a work very close to my heart. It would mean a great deal to share this deeply moving moment with you, especially in the presence of its remarkable composer @aftab.darvishi. Aftab will speak about her piece, and we will reflect on her rich Persian heritage, spanning over 5,000 years.

“Likoo” embodies so much of the suffering in Iran over the past four years - it is tragic that peace still feels so distant.

Alongside this outstanding solo work, we will perform deeply intriguing music by André Previn, written especially for me. I’m also thrilled that the wonderful cellist @maximilianhornung will join us for Previn’s Trio, as well as for Beethoven’s magnificent “Archduke” Trio.

I can’t wait to be back on stage with @lauma_skride, one of the most exciting pianists of our time.

More to come soon - including my @bbc interview.

I have a little confession to make about a few of the compositions on my new album “East Meets West”. I’m so excited about it, though I have to admit, it wasn’t love at first sight with every piece, but it turned into a love with staying power! Learn more about the process in the video.

The album, released on @alpha_classics, is out now everywhere! Please listen to it, and let me know your thoughts🙏

After spending several months focusing on “Likoo“ by @aftab.darvishi, which I am deeply moved, enriched and at the same time shattered by, I’m overjoyed to share the full album, “East Meets West“ with you now. Each composition is a beautiful dialogue between worlds. I am invigorated by @unsukchinofficial’s “Gran Cadenza, For Two Violins”, #JörgWidmann’s “Studie über Beethoven,” and @thomasades’ piece “Air – Homage to Sibelius.”

Thank you to the incredible @nancyzhouviolin, @yeeunchoi_violin, @murielrazaviviola, @pabloferrandez.cellist & @londonsymphonyorchestra! It‘s my greatest pleasure to create magic with you 🎶

The album, released on @alpha_classics, is out now everywhere. Find the link in my bio!
